Novice Diving Requirements
Rules effective Jan 2006

7 & Under (1 and 3 meter = 3 dives)
Springboard. All Novice divers shall perform three dives using a D.D. of 1.0 for all dives.

9 & Under (1 and 3 meter = 5 dives; Platform = 3 dives)
Springboard. All Novice divers shall perform a forward jump (100A,B,C) and a backward jump (200A,B,C), using a D.D. of 1.0.
These two jumps shall be done in any order at the beginning of the competition and shall be followed by three dives from at least two different groups, using a D.D. of 1.0 for all dives.
Platform (3 and 5 meter only). All divers shall perform a forward jump (100A,B,C) and dive 001D plus one optional dive.
Dive 200A,B,C or dive 002D may be used as an optional dive.? All dives will use a D.D. of 1.0.

10/11 (1 meter = 5 dives,? 3 meter = 6 dives; Platform = 3 dives)
Springboard. All Novice divers shall perform a forward jump (100A,B,C) and a backward jump (200A,B,C), using a D.D. of 1.0.
These two jumps shall be done in any order at the beginning of the competition and shall be followed by three dives from at least two different groups, using a D.D. of 1.0 for all dives.
In the 3-meter event, dive 001D, using a D.D. of 1.0, shall be performed immediately following the two jumps.
Platform (3 and 5 meter only). All divers shall perform a forward jump (100A,B,C) and dive 001D plus one optional dive.
Dive 200A,B,C or dive 002D may be used as an optional dive.? All dives will use a D.D. of 1.0.

12/13 (1 meter = 6 dives,? 3 meter = 7 dives; Platform = 4 dives)
Springboard. All Novice divers shall perform a forward jump (100A,B,C) and a backward jump (200A,B,C), using a D.D. of 1.0.
These two jumps shall be done in any order at the beginning of the competition and shall be followed by dive 101A,B,C, using a D.D. of 1.8 on 1-meter and 1.9 on 3-meter, plus three optional dives from different groups.?
Any dive on the table may be used.? The optional dives shall be calculated with their true D.D. unless that D.D. exceeds 2.3 on the 1-meter or 2.4 on the 3-meter, in which case these ceiling D.D.'s shall be used for calculation of scores.?
In the 3-meter event, dive 001D, using a D.D. of 1.0, shall be performed immediately following the two jumps and before the 101A,B,C.
Platform (3, 5 and 7.5 meter only). All divers shall perform a forward jump (100A,B,C), a forward entry (001D), and a forward dive (101A,B,C) plus one optional dive.
Dive 200A,B,C or dive 002D may be used as an optional dive.? All dives will use a D.D. of 1.0.

14/15 and 16/18 (1 meter = 7 dives,? 3 meter = 8 dives; Platform = 6 dives)
Springboard. All Novice divers shall perform a forward jump (100A,B,C) and a backward jump (200A,B,C), using a D.D. of 1.0.
These two jumps shall be done in any order at the beginning of the competition and shall be followed by five dives from at least three different groups, with no more than two dives being from any one group.? Dives shall be calculated with their true D.D..
In the 3-meter event, dive 001D, using a D.D. of 1.0, shall be performed immediately following the two jumps.
Platform (3, 5 and 7.5 meter only). All divers shall perform a forward jump (100A,B,C), a forward entry (001D), and a forward dive (101A,B,C) plus three optional dives.
Dive 200A,B,C or dive 002D may be used as an optional dive.? Skills (100, 200, 001, and 002) shall use a D.D. of 1.0.? All other dives will use true D.D. without limits.
